This is just a short post. I have been running mad lately with church work and with the regular old family stuff that happens during Advent. Also, the "buy local" part of the holiday does mean running about a bit to this and that store and getting only a few items at each. The computer tempts me in the purchasing department...
One of the things I have been up to, though, has to do with the "local" thing and the "food" thing. Both of these have been hot topics in my life at home, at church, and at this sparsely-updated blog. I have started a "buying group" at church and we have pooled our resources to obtain some CSA shares this summer from an organic farm that also does good work with another organization called Dismas House, which helps people coming out of prison after serving time for a drug-related offense. In my previous life, I helped people with similar barriers to employment find work. So I am always happy to see people stepping up give these folks another chance.
Anyway, here are the links!
